Board of Directors

Niko Elmaleh

Mr. Elmaleh has worked for Cartridge Television, United Artist and Paramount Pictures, and WW Entertainment, which was a leading distributor of imported feature films in the theatrical, paid television, and cable television industries. He received BA in 1968 from Brown University and graduated in 1964 from the Collegiate School in New York City. He lives in Manhattan and has one son.

Roberta Kirshbaum

Ms. Kirshbaum is a retired elementary school principal with 17 years experience both in New York City and Westchester County. She is the author of a book, called Parent Power, detailing her experiences turning a failing New York City public school into an award-winning institution with the help of the entire school community. Over her 35 year span in public education, she taught many grade levels and subjects, as well as earning a master's degree in educational theatre from Teacher's College. As a staff developer and director of a small alternative public performing arts middle school in East Harlem, she became devoted to the idea that infusing the arts into the curricula is an important path to raising critical thinking, self awareness and motivation in all students and incorporated arts-integrated learning into every setting in which she worked. She is currently an adjunct professor in the leadership training program at Bank St. University in New York City.

Julie J. Jensen

Julie J. Jensen serves as COO of The Jenesis Group based in Irving, Texas. Established in 1987, the Jenesis Group is a private family foundation bringing innovation and an entrepreneurial philosophy to philanthropy. Focusing their efforts on the education and development of youth & young adults in underserved communities, Jenesis has chosen Social Entrepreneurs as their change agent of choice to empower disadvantaged and/or at-risk youth to become productive citizens in our democratic society. The Jenesis Group considers it a privilege to include entrepreneurial organizations such as Ashoka, Year Up, College Summit, Sports4Kids, Latin American Youth Center and Positive Coaching Alliance amongst its list of impressive grantees. In addition to its diverse grant-making programs, Jenesis seeks to leverage its impact by collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations.

Julie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa USA as well as a Law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, Missouri USA. She completed her formal education at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, where she was awarded a Master of Laws in Taxation.

Lyle Mahler

Lyle Mahler is a partner in the firm's banking and corporate practice group. Mr. Mahler regularly counsels businesses in connection with general corporate issues and transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions and joint venture arrangements, with a special emphasis on real estate joint ventures, as well as matters involving the negotiation and preparation of shareholder agreements, operating agreements, employment agreements and commercial contracts. In addition, Mr. Mahler has extensive experience representing lenders in both secured and unsecured loan transactions, including syndicated and asset-based loan facilities and frequently provides advice on complex structuring issues.

Mr. Mahler received his Juris Doctor from the Fordham University School of Law in 1995, where he served as an associate editor of Fordham's Intellectual Property Media and Entertainment Law Journal. In 1992, Mr. Mahler graduated, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. Mr. Mahler is a member of the Business Advisory Board of Sterling National Bank and the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations. Mr. Mahler is also active in the Long Island community and is involved with charities and events which support the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island and Schneider Children's Hospital.

Vinford Mentar

Vinford A. Mentar is a Vice President of Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase & Co., who has had the geographical responsibility for Manhattan for three years and is now covering Queens and Long Island since 2006. In his current position and geography he is responsible for all of the areas Philanthropic giving and Community Relations. His duties include serving on boards, providing technical assistance to community groups, insuring that vital links between the firm and community exists, providing access to financial services, and the review and administration of grants and sponsorships.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Mentar served as a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Treasury Department at JPMorgan Chase & Co., and had responsibility for the Parent Companies Quarterly Performance Report for the Executive Committee. He also had responsibilities for the corporations Debt and Equity Shelves (Board authorized and SEC authorized). Mr. Mentar is a Graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University with a Masters in Organizational Psychology, with a minor in Mediation, Negotiations and Conflict Resolution. Mr. Mentar has a B.A. Undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Psychology and Minored in Business. Vinny is married to Veronica A. Mentar. Vinny and Veronica have four children; Anastasia, Arianda, and twin girls Catalina and Cassandra.
